Resurrected Living
"What are you going to do with your new resurrected life? This is the heroic question." Richard Rohr

American VI

The last Johnny Cash album has finally been released.  American VI lives up to the hype and can easily stand beside the other great American recordings.  This album as well as the other American albums put out by Johnny Cash are unique.  Not only are they great albums filled with outstanding music, but they are reflections on life.  Johnny Cash, a man who had experienced the ups and downs of life, reflects back on his life as well as stares death in the face.  If you have not read Cash’s autobiography I highly recommend it.  He was a man who understood the poor and the downtrodden.  He found fame early on in life, but he never forgot where he came from and that comes through in his music.  Perhaps one of the greatest gifts Johnny Cash has left us with is his faith, and his ability to reflect on death knowing it is right around the corner.  This is evident on previous recordings, but it is really seen on this, his final album.  Whether you are looking for great music or something deeper American VI has it, but don’t just take my word for it.  Take a listen for yourself.
